Lehmiranta cherishes nature, people and the community across generations. Environmentally friendly solutions, local values and safety are an integral part of our everyday operations – ensuring that wellbeing and meaningful experiences can be enjoyed also by future generations.
Environmental Responsibility
Applying for an environmental label means a strong commitment to environmentally friendly solutions, including the monitoring of electricity, heating and water consumption, as well as waste volume and recycling.
The most visible and significant element of Lehmiranta’s surroundings is Lake Lehmijärvi. Lehmiranta has been actively involved in the lake’s protection association since its founding in 1977. Today, the ecological status of the lake is classified as excellent. All wastewater from the hotel, including in emergency situations, is directed away from the lake.
Our forest area also includes a new 28-hectare protected conservation site, safeguarded through the national METSO programme.
To reduce private car use, we encourage group travel whenever possible. During longer themed holidays and courses, our house vehicle can also collect guests from Salo railway stations upon request as a continuation of public transport.
An electric vehicle charging station has been installed in our parking area.
Reducing food waste is also one of the key development goals of our environmental programme.
Economic and social responsibility
Social responsibility is at the core of our mission to build an age-friendly Finland and to provide leisure and wellbeing services for all our guests.
Lehmiranta has operated at the same location for over 50 years, working in close cooperation with local businesses, communities and associations. For our guests, this strong sense of locality is visible in many ways: local products in our kiosk, local performers, guided excursions and lectures to nearby cultural and nature destinations, as well as the sharing of cultural heritage, for example during holidays designed for grandparents and grandchildren.
Our goal for the future is to further expand the use of local products and local partners in our operations.
Lehmiranta is managed with a long-term perspective, with a clear focus on the future. Our aim is to secure the continuity of age-friendly holiday services for generations to come.
Lehmiranta provides year-round employment for nearly 20 full-time professionals in the tourism and restaurant industry.
Safety
A responsible operator cares for the safety of its guests. At Lehmiranta, first aid training is provided regularly to all hotel staff, and a defibrillator is available for emergency situations.
All fire and rescue, guest safety and health safety plans are actively monitored and kept up to date.
In addition, our own backup generator ensures electricity supply and basic guest safety and comfort even during power outages.
